Your Morning Laugh - Curling in the Country, by Duncan MacDougall (in memoriam)

June 27, 2018

by Joan Mesic, Senior Correspondent

"Duncan MacDougall, Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on June 3, 2018 (refer to his obituary in the "In Memoriam" section). Duncan was a prolific contributor to our website during 2016 - 2017 and wrote 17 stories which we have published and enjoyed reading. Duncan had a few more stories which were not published as he wanted to hold them for a future date as he felt he was hogging the web and wanted others to follow his example and submit there own stories. We have contacted Duncan's daughter, Roberta Dunlop, to gain permission to publish which she has granted us.

Please CLICK to read, part of Roberta's eulogy about her dad and "Your Morning Laugh - Curling in the Country" by Duncan MacDougall (in memoriam)."

June 26, 2018

Our next Quarterly Meeting will be held on Thursday July 5th, 2018 at 1pm at the IFL.

At our July meeting we will be joined by Mr. Andrew Jordon, Regional Manager, Greater Toronto Area, Canadian Cannabis Clinics.

Although July represents the intended legalization of cannabis, it has already been approved for and legal for,  medical purposes. We have invited Andrew to talk to us about:

  • Current legislation
  • Medical cannabis and who it can benefit
  • Canadian cannabis clinics - locations and process at the clinics
  • Cannabis as an alternative to prescription and over-the-counter medications in controlling pain (and their many negative side-effects)
  • Becoming informed -- Myth versus fact

This will be an informative and timely opportunity for our members. Please join us and bring your questions.

We hope to see you on July 5th. The meeting agenda is attached.   CLICK HERE
